Hamas Accepts Gaza Ceasefire Proposition

Hamas has reportedly agreed to a ceasefire proposal for Gaza with Israeli forces, as stated by Palestinian photojournalist Motaz Azaiza.

According to Al Jazeera, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh conveyed the group’s acceptance of the ceasefire to Qatari and Egyptian mediators. The approval was communicated by Haniyeh in a phone call with Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Egyptian intelligence minister Abbas Kamel.

Hamas released a statement on their official website confirming Haniyeh’s communication, stating their agreement with the proposed ceasefire. The conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with thousands killed and wounded in Israeli attacks on Gaza, while the death toll in Israel from Hamas’ attacks is also substantial.
