The Establishment Division has given government officials a final deadline of one week to declare their foreign or dual citizenship, warning that disciplinary action could follow if they fail to comply.
According to a letter issued by the Establishment Division, several officers from key government groups have not declared their foreign or dual nationality as required under applicable rules.
The officers include members of the Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service of Pakistan, Secretariat Group and Office Management Group. The concerned officials have been directed to provide details of their foreign or dual citizenship within the specified timeframe.
The Establishment Division has made it clear that officials who fail to comply with the instructions within one week could face disciplinary proceedings. The warning comes as the government moves to ensure that civil servants follow existing rules regarding the declaration of foreign and dual nationality.
Relevant departments and authorities have also been instructed to ensure that the directions are implemented within the prescribed period. They will be responsible for following up with the concerned officials and ensuring that the required information is submitted.
