Gold prices in Pakistan increased on Monday, October 26, after suffering significant losses during the previous week. The latest recovery came alongside an increase in international bullion prices, bringing some relief to the local gold market.
According to the latest rates released by the Sarafa market, the price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs1,400 per tola to reach Rs423,436. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also increased by Rs1,201, bringing the new rate to Rs363,028.
Silver prices recorded a smaller increase during the same session. The price of silver rose by Rs20 per tola to reach Rs5,878.
Latest Gold and Silver Prices in Pakistan
The latest reported rates show an upward movement in both domestic gold and silver prices. International gold prices also increased, supporting the recovery in the local market.
The latest rates are as follows:
- 24-karat gold per tola: Rs423,436, up Rs1,400
- 24-karat gold per 10 grams: Rs363,028, up Rs1,201
- Silver per tola: Rs5,878, up Rs20
- International gold per ounce: $4,009, up $14
The increase follows a decline recorded on Saturday, October 24, when gold prices fell by Rs2,500 per tola to Rs422,036.
Despite Monday’s recovery, gold remains Rs1,100 per tola below its level before Saturday’s decline. This indicates that the market has recovered only part of its recent losses.
International Gold Prices Also Increase
Gold prices in Pakistan moved higher alongside gains in the international bullion market. The international price of gold increased by $14 per ounce, rising from $3,995 to $4,009.
International gold prices are an important factor in determining domestic rates. However, local prices can also be affected by the rupee-dollar exchange rate, trading conditions and changes in demand.
The latest increase has helped improve market sentiment after the recent decline. However, one session of gains does not necessarily mean that gold prices will continue rising in the coming days.
Gold Rates in Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar
Gold quotations also varied across major cities, according to the reported local market figures. In Lahore, dealers quoted two rates for piece gold and two rates for Pathoor gold.
The reported rates in Lahore were Rs418,500 and Rs417,800 for piece gold. Pathoor gold was quoted at Rs413,500 and Rs411,500.
In Karachi, the reported gold rate stood at Rs419,000, while the quotation in Peshawar reached Rs432,500.
These city-level quotations differ from the national benchmark rate of 24-karat gold per tola. Buyers should confirm the latest rate, gold purity and applicable making charges with local jewellers before purchasing jewellery.
What Does the Latest Increase Mean for Buyers?
The latest increase may affect people planning to purchase gold jewellery, as even small changes in the per-tola rate can make a noticeable difference to the total cost of a purchase.
For investors and bullion traders, the recent movement highlights the importance of monitoring both domestic and international market trends. Gold prices can change quickly, and a short-term recovery does not guarantee further gains.
With gold still below its level before Saturday’s decline, the market has not yet recovered all its recent losses. Buyers, sellers and investors will be watching international bullion prices and currency movements to assess the next direction of the market.
