Gold prices in Pakistan recorded another sharp increase on Saturday, extending a recent upward trend in the local and international bullion markets. The latest rise marks the fourth consecutive increase in international gold prices.
According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold increased by Rs2,200 per tola on Saturday. The new rate reached Rs456,536 per tola.
The price of 10-gram gold also increased during the latest session. It rose by Rs1,887 to reach Rs391,406, reflecting the continued strength in gold prices across the local market.
Gold has recorded a significant increase in Pakistan since August 5. The per tola price has risen by Rs28,600 during this period, creating renewed interest among investors and consumers.
On Friday, gold prices had already increased by Rs5,100 per tola. The rate reached Rs454,336 after the previous day’s sharp increase.
The latest rise in Pakistan has come alongside continued gains in international gold prices. In the international market, gold increased by $22 per ounce to reach $4,341.
International bullion prices remain an important factor behind changes in Pakistan’s local gold rates. Currency movements and developments in global financial markets can also influence domestic prices.
The continued rise has also affected the cost of gold jewellery. Buyers may face additional costs beyond the official gold rate, including making charges and other fees imposed by individual jewellers.
Meanwhile, silver prices moved in the opposite direction on Saturday. The price of silver fell by Rs113 per tola to close the week at Rs6,826.
Silver remained below the Rs7,000 per tola mark after the latest decline. The movement in silver prices contrasts with the strong gains recorded by gold during the week.
The latest gold increase is likely to attract further attention from investors and consumers across Pakistan. People planning to buy or sell gold are expected to closely monitor international prices and upcoming local market updates.
With gold already gaining Rs28,600 per tola since August 5, further changes in international bullion prices could have a direct impact on the domestic market.
