The price of gold in Pakistan recorded a sharp decline on Saturday after increasing for two consecutive days. Gold prices also fell in the international market.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold dropped by Rs3,600 per tola.
Following the latest decline, the price of 24-karat gold reached Rs465,536 per tola. The reduction comes after a two-day increase in local gold prices.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also decreased. It fell by Rs3,086 to reach Rs399,122.
Meanwhile, 22-karat gold also became cheaper in the local market. The price of 10 grams declined by Rs2,829 and settled at Rs365,875.
The downward trend was also visible in the international bullion market. Global gold prices fell by $36 per ounce.
After the decline, international gold was trading at $4,430 per ounce. Changes in global gold prices can directly influence rates in Pakistan.
Gold prices in Pakistan are closely linked to international bullion rates and currency movements. Local market demand and other factors can also influence daily prices.
The latest decline has reversed part of the gains recorded during the previous two sessions. Investors and consumers are now watching the market for further movements.
Gold remains a popular investment and savings option in Pakistan. Changes in its price can affect investors, jewelers and consumers planning to purchase gold.
The decline could provide some relief to buyers who were facing higher prices during the previous two days. However, gold remains at a high level compared with historical prices.
Silver prices also showed changes in the local market. The price of 24-karat silver declined by Rs63.
Following the latest adjustment, 24-karat silver was priced at Rs7,098. The movement reflected the broader changes in precious metals during the session.
However, the reported figures for 10 grams of silver contain a discrepancy. The provided market update says its price “increased by Rs54” while also presenting the figure as Rs6,085.
The overall precious metals market therefore remained under pressure during Saturday’s trading. Gold recorded the most significant decline among the reported prices.
Market participants are expected to continue monitoring international bullion prices. Any further movement in global gold prices could influence local rates in the coming sessions.
Currency movements may also remain an important factor for Pakistan’s gold market. Changes in the rupee-dollar exchange rate can affect the local value of internationally priced gold.
For consumers, the latest reduction means a lower purchase price compared with the previous day’s rate. Buyers may continue to watch prices before making major purchases.
Investors may also monitor the market closely after the sharp decline. Gold prices can move quickly when international market conditions change.
The latest figures show that gold prices can reverse direction rapidly after short-term gains. After two days of increases, the market recorded a significant decline on Saturday.
Further changes will depend on developments in the international bullion market and local economic conditions. Consumers and investors are likely to keep a close eye on the next market update.
