Government College University (GCU) Lahore, in collaboration with the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund (PWWF), has announced fully funded education opportunities for eligible industrial workers and their children.
Under the initiative, 50 seats have been reserved across Intermediate and BS (Hons) programs at GCU Lahore’s Main Campus and KSK Campus.
20 Seats Reserved for Intermediate Programs
GCU Lahore has allocated 20 seats for Intermediate-level programs, covering several academic streams.
These include Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, ICS/General Science, I.Com, and Arts/Humanities.
Five of these seats will be offered at the university’s Main Campus, while the remaining 15 seats have been reserved at the KSK Campus.
30 Seats Available for BS Programs
Another 30 seats have been reserved for selected BS programs.
At the Main Campus, eligible students can apply for programs including BS Botany, BS Gender & Climate Change, BS Persian, BS Philosophy, BS Punjabi, and BS Turkish Language & Literature.
The KSK Campus will offer reserved seats in BS Art History, BS Disaster Management, BS Geography, BS Global Studies, B.Ed. (4-Year), BS History, BS Islamic Studies, BS Physical Education, and BS Remote Sensing & GIS.
Who Can Apply?
The free education scheme is available to eligible industrial workers and their children who fulfill the conditions set by the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund.
Applicants must also meet GCU Lahore’s admission and merit requirements for their selected program.
This means that eligibility for the workers’ welfare scheme alone does not guarantee admission, as candidates must also satisfy the university’s academic requirements.
How to Apply
Interested candidates can obtain the Nomination-cum-Admission Form from the official Punjab Workers Welfare Fund website.
Applicants are required to complete the form and submit the necessary educational, identity and worker-related documents along with their application.
The initiative provides eligible students with an opportunity to pursue higher education at one of Lahore’s major public-sector universities without paying tuition fees, subject to the applicable eligibility, admission and merit criteria.
