flydubai is set to launch dedicated cargo flights between Dubai and Karachi from October 1, 2026, expanding its freight operations and creating additional cargo capacity between the United Arab Emirates and Pakistan.
The airline will operate the new service three times a week between Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) and Karachi using Boeing 737-800 freighter aircraft.
The new Karachi route is part of flydubai’s initial dedicated freighter network as the airline expands its presence in the regional cargo market.
Three weekly flights between Dubai and Karachi
According to the airline, the Dubai-Karachi cargo service will operate three times a week from October 1.
The flights will connect Karachi with Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport, which will serve as the dedicated freighter hub for flydubai Cargo.
The introduction of the service is expected to provide businesses with additional options for transporting goods between the two major commercial centres.
Karachi is Pakistan’s largest commercial and industrial city and an important hub for international trade, making it a significant destination for regional cargo operations.
Boeing 737-800 freighters
flydubai will introduce three Boeing 737-800 freighter aircraft under a wet-lease agreement with SolitAir.
Each aircraft will provide approximately 23,000 kilograms of additional payload capacity per flight, giving the airline dedicated main-deck freight capability.
The freighter aircraft will operate from DWC, which flydubai has designated as the central hub for its new cargo operations.
The use of dedicated freighters will allow the airline to handle shipments that require greater cargo capacity and specialised transportation arrangements.
Karachi joins expanding cargo network
The Karachi service will form part of flydubai’s initial freighter network, which includes several destinations across the Middle East and surrounding regions.
The airline’s cargo network includes routes connecting Dubai with Doha, Erbil, Kuwait City and Sulaymaniyah, alongside other planned destinations in South Asia and Asia.
The expansion is aimed at building a broader regional freight network centred around Dubai.
For businesses operating across these markets, the additional dedicated cargo capacity could provide another option for moving commercial shipments through Dubai.
Cargo services to cover specialised shipments
flydubai said its new freighter operation will be capable of transporting a wide range of specialised cargo.
This includes pharmaceuticals, perishable goods, live animals, dangerous goods, express shipments and aerospace components.
Such shipments often require specific handling and transportation arrangements, making dedicated cargo aircraft particularly useful for logistics providers and businesses.
The airline’s new operation is therefore intended to support both conventional freight and shipments that require specialised cargo handling.
More capacity for regional businesses
The new cargo service is expected to expand flydubai’s logistics capabilities and provide businesses with additional main-deck freight capacity.
Dedicated freighter aircraft allow cargo to be carried directly on the main deck, providing greater flexibility compared with relying solely on passenger aircraft belly-hold capacity.
The additional capacity could support businesses involved in international trade, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, e-commerce and other industries that depend on reliable air freight connections.
