The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced the auction of a property in Bahria Golf City, Rawalpindi. The auction is aimed at recovering outstanding tax dues.
The property covers 32 kanals and 11 marlas of land. It also includes a constructed house and built-up area.
According to the auction notice, the property is located at Plot No. 1, Street No. R2A. The location falls within Bahria Golf City, Mauza Salkhater, Rawalpindi.
The FBR has scheduled the auction for October 6, 2026. The property is being offered as part of tax recovery proceedings.
The outstanding tax liabilities involved in the case are approximately Rs. 26.4 billion. The auction notice was issued by the FBR’s Large Taxpayers Office in Islamabad.
The proceedings are being conducted under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. They also follow the relevant provisions of the Income Tax Rules, 2002.
Under the income tax recovery framework, attached immovable property can be sold through public auction. Such sales must follow the prescribed legal process.
The relevant tax authorities must also provide the required approval. The auction process therefore forms part of the formal tax recovery mechanism.
The latest action follows increased recovery proceedings by the tax authority in 2025. These proceedings involved tax demands linked to tax years 2020 and 2022.
The enforcement efforts later included action involving several major properties. One significant property was located in Murree.
The Murree property covered 527 kanals and 10 marlas. It went through multiple auction proceedings before being sold in July 2026.
The FBR has also previously auctioned a Bahria Town property on Park Road, Islamabad. The proceedings generated around Rs. 2.05 billion, according to the information provided.
The latest auction is separate from proceedings conducted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The two agencies are dealing with different legal matters.
NAB has previously pursued Bahria Town-related properties under separate recovery proceedings. Those cases were connected with amounts arising from a plea bargain.
In June 2025, NAB announced the auction of several properties linked to Bahria Town. These included corporate offices located on Park Road, Rawalpindi.
Other properties included Rubaish Marquee and Lawn in Islamabad. Arena Cinema, Bahria Town International Academy, and Safari Club were also included.
Those NAB proceedings were conducted under Section 33-E of the National Accountability Ordinance, 1999. They were therefore based on a different legal framework.
The October 6 auction is being conducted by the FBR for tax recovery purposes. It falls under the income tax recovery framework.
The distinction is important because the two proceedings involve different authorities and legal provisions. The latest auction relates specifically to outstanding tax liabilities.
The FBR’s latest move reflects its continued efforts to recover unpaid taxes. Property auctions are among the mechanisms available under the applicable tax laws.
The Bahria Golf City property will be offered through the scheduled auction process. Further proceedings will depend on the applicable legal requirements and auction outcome.
The auction notice provides details about the property and the outstanding liabilities. Interested parties can refer to the official auction process for relevant requirements.
