Fazeela Abbasi Granted Interim Bail Extension in Case

Fazeela Abbasi on Monday obtained an extension in her interim pre-arrest bail in a case linked to an allegedly illegal clinic, according to reports. The decision was issued by Humayun Dilawar, a Special Judge Central, who allowed the extension while directing her to cooperate fully with the investigation process.

During the court proceedings, Abbasi appeared alongside her legal counsel Naeem Bukhari and submitted a fresh application seeking pre-arrest bail. After reviewing the request, the court granted interim relief against surety bonds amounting to Rs50,000. The judge also instructed her to actively participate in the inquiry being conducted by authorities. The hearing was subsequently adjourned until May 5 for further developments.

According to officials, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered two separate cases against Abbasi over allegations related to running an unauthorized clinic. In addition to this matter, she is already on bail in another case involving alleged money laundering.

Previously, the Islamabad High Court had reinstated Abbasi’s interim bail in the money laundering case, allowing her temporary relief and instructing her to approach the trial court for continuation of proceedings. This relief came after a setback in the lower court, where her pre-arrest bail request was rejected due to her absence during a scheduled hearing.

In a written order, the trial court noted that Abbasi had failed to appear despite the case being fixed, and dismissed her request for exemption on medical grounds, calling it a misuse of legal concession. Following that decision, she moved to the high court, which provided interim relief and permitted her to pursue the matter further at the trial court level.
