Farooq Sattar Invites Miftah Ismail To MQM-P

Dr. Farooq Sattar, a senior figure in Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P), has invited former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail to join MQM-P. Miftah had previously resigned from his position as General Secretary of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Sindh earlier this year. His departure from the party was due to his outspoken criticism of PML-N’s economic policies, particularly during Ishaq Dar’s tenure as finance minister. This move came as a result of dissatisfaction with Miftah Ismail’s performance in the coalition government led by PML-N.

Miftah Ismail expressed his concerns on various platforms, offering insights into the nation’s economic affairs while refraining from directly implicating the party. He found allies in former Pakistan Peoples Party leader Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, leading to speculation about the formation of a potential new political party.
