Fakhar Zaman Reveals His New Batting Position in T20Is

Pakistan’s opening batsman, Fakhar Zaman, has expressed contentment with a change in his batting position ahead of the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, commencing on January 12 in Auckland.

Speaking to the media in Lahore, Fakhar highlighted the healthy competition for batting slots within the team and emphasized the team’s collective improvement.

He acknowledged the necessity of competition, stating, “It’s good that six players are vying for one spot in the team.” While he has traditionally opened for the team, Fakhar shared that he has been directed to play one or two down due to the stellar performances of Babar and Rizwan as openers.

The 33-year-old disclosed that both the coach and team captain have advised him to bat lower in the lineup, a departure from his customary role as the opening batsman.
