England Reveals T20I World Cup 2024 Squad

England, the defending champions, have unveiled their lineup for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, slated to begin in June this year, following suit with New Zealand’s squad announcement. This declaration sets the stage for the mega-event set to take place in the USA and the Caribbean, with England assembling their top-tier players.

The squad, presented by ‘The Three Lions’, features a blend of familiar faces and emerging talents. Leading the team is Captain Jos Buttler, supported by Moeen Ali as the vice-captain. Notable veterans like Adil Rashid and Jonny Bairstow bring experience and stability to the squad. Rashid’s leg-spinning prowess and Bairstow’s versatility as a batter add depth to England’s lineup.

The bowling unit comprises Mark Wood, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, and Reece Topley. Liam Livingston, Ben Duckett, and Harry Brook are tasked with accelerating the scoring during the middle overs.

In the batting order, selectors opted for young talents like Phil Salt and Will Jacks, while Tom Hartley, a slow left-arm orthodox spinner, supports Ali and Rashid in the spin department.

England, led by Buttler, finds themselves in Group B alongside Australia, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman. They commence their campaign against Scotland on June 4 in Barbados.
