CM Maryam Nawaz to Build Homes for 5-Marla Plot Owners

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has committed to funding the ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ program, which is aimed at providing financial assistance to individuals with up to 5-marla plots to build houses. This initiative is specifically designed to help low-income families achieve homeownership.

In addition, the Punjab government plans to transform the entire province into a ‘safe city’ by installing CCTV cameras in all urban areas. The Chief Minister emphasized the significance of security and modern infrastructure in creating a safe environment conducive to economic activities.

The cabinet also approved several measures to reduce financial liabilities and enhance economic efficiency. These measures include retiring wheat debt amounting to Rs375 billion, which will save over Rs54 billion in interest payments. Additionally, the cabinet set a revenue target of Rs960 billion for the current fiscal year, a significant increase from the previous year’s target of Rs625 billion. The province achieved a record tax revenue increase of Rs110 billion in FY2023-24, surpassing the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) target by 36%.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised the cabinet members and various ministers for their efforts in reducing inflation and increasing provincial revenues. The new budget reflects the Punjab government’s strategic priorities focused on sustainable development, economic growth, and improving the quality of life for all residents.
