CID Actor Dinesh Phadnis Famous as Fredericks Passes Away at 57

Renowned Indian actor Dinesh Phadnis, famous for his portrayal of Fredericks in the crime series ‘CID,’ has passed away. The unfortunate news was confirmed by his longtime friend and co-star, Dayanand Shetty.

The actor, celebrated for his comedic and endearing portrayal of Inspector Fredericks alongside Shivaji Satam and Aditya Shrivastava, was undergoing treatment at Mumbai’s Tunga Hospital due to liver failure. Reports from Indian media state that he was 57 years old at the time of his demise.

‘CID,’ a crime-thriller that captivated audiences in both India and Pakistan, held a prominent place on television screens for nearly two decades after its launch in 1998.
