Chairman BISE Larkana Removed for Harassing Female Staff

The Provincial Ombudsman of Sindh has implemented disciplinary measures against the Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Larkana.

In light of a harassment case, Chairman Nasim Ahmed Memon has been dismissed from his role and fined Rs 300,000.

The investigation uncovered that Chairman Memon had subjected a school teacher to harassment, intimidation, and mental distress during his previous position as Principal of Public School Hyderabad. The victim, represented by advocate Sajjad Ahmed Chandio, filed a complaint in 2017.

The ombudsman’s ruling states that evidence presented during the hearings indicated that Memon had sent text and video messages to the victim outside working hours, attempting to interfere in her personal life. Notably, Memon did not contest the allegations brought forward by the victim.

Consequently, the ombudsman concluded that Memon was guilty of harassment, leading to his immediate removal from the position of Chairman of BISE Larkana. Alongside this, a fine of Rs 300,000 was imposed, and the provincial government was instructed to pay this amount to the victim from the accused’s service benefits.

The government is required to fulfill this payment within 30 days through the office of the ombudsman.
