Cement sales in Pakistan increased by 2.93 percent during the first four months of the current financial year. The growth came despite a decline in exports during October 2026.
According to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA), domestic cement sales showed positive growth. However, export figures remained weaker compared with the previous year.
The data indicates that local demand continues to support the cement industry. At the same time, falling exports remain a concern for manufacturers.
Domestic Cement Sales Increase in October
Domestic cement sales increased by 1.17 percent in October 2026. Total sales reached 4.041 million tonnes during the month.
This growth reflects stronger demand within Pakistan’s construction market. It also helped support overall industry performance despite weaker export figures.
Cement exports, however, declined by 3.67 percent during October. Export volumes stood at 768,754 tonnes compared with the corresponding period.
Despite the decline in exports, total cement sales recorded slight growth. Combined domestic sales and exports reached 4.810 million tonnes.
This represented an increase of 0.37 percent compared with the same period last year. The figures show that domestic demand helped offset some pressure from overseas markets.
Northern Region Records Mixed Performance
The northern region recorded a decline in total cement sales during October. Sales by cement mills in the region fell by 3.13 percent.
However, domestic sales in the northern region showed a slight improvement. They increased by 0.13 percent to reach 3.397 million tonnes.
This suggests that local demand remained relatively stable in northern markets. However, the overall decline indicates weaker performance across the region.
Southern Region Shows Stronger Domestic Demand
The southern region recorded better results in domestic cement sales during October. Sales increased by 7.05 percent to reach 643,816 tonnes.
Cement exports from the southern region also recorded positive growth. They increased by 12.40 percent during the month.
The improvement in both domestic sales and exports reflects stronger performance in the southern market. This trend contrasts with the decline recorded by northern cement mills.
Cement Industry Faces Mixed Market Trends
The latest APCMA figures highlight different trends across Pakistan’s cement industry. Domestic sales increased, while overall exports declined during October.
The rise in local demand provided support to manufacturers. However, weaker export performance remains an important challenge for the industry.

Overall, cement sales maintained positive growth during the first four months of the financial year. Future performance will depend on domestic construction activity and demand from international markets.
