Blast in Balochistan

According to police sources, an explosion inside the Rakhni market in Barkhan, Balochistan, on Sunday morning resulted in at least four fatalities and ten injuries.

Barkhan Station House Officer (SHO) Sajjad Afzal confirmed  the dead toll. The injured people, according to him, have been sent to a local hospital.

A police team has arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area for investigations, the official continued.

According to Barkhan Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Khoso, the explosion was caused by an IED that exploded after being planted on a motorcycle.

Unverified social media videos show volunteers escorting injured victims away as a mob assembles at the alleged explosion scene. The road is littered with burned veggies and broken motorcycles.

Balochistan’s Chief Minister, Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo, has denounced the explosion and ordered the authorities to use every legal means at their disposal to apprehend those responsible.

He declared that those who kill innocent people are enemies of humanity.

In order to further their wicked intentions, terrorists “create ambiguity. But we won’t let anti-state elements flourish,” the minister said, vowing that the administration would come up with a successful counterterrorism plan.

Also, Bizenjo prayed for the high ranks and instructed officials to give injured persons the finest medical care possible.
