The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Rawalpindi has rescheduled the Computer Science papers of the Intermediate Second Annual Examinations 2026 for students appearing at examination centres in Jhelum district.
The examinations, originally scheduled for November 10, will now take place on November 30, 2026. The decision applies to both morning and evening groups in Jhelum.
According to the board, the change was made following a request from the Jhelum deputy commissioner, who raised concerns about administrative and security arrangements for the expected visit of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to Jhelum and Pind Dadan Khan on November 10.
Why BISE Rawalpindi Changed the Exam Date
The Jhelum district administration requested the board to postpone the Computer Science examinations because government departments and security personnel would be engaged in arrangements for the chief minister’s expected visit.
According to a letter obtained by Dawn, the deputy commissioner informed the BISE Rawalpindi chairman that the deployment of administrative and security staff could affect the smooth and uninterrupted conduct of examinations.
The district administration therefore requested that the papers be shifted to another date to avoid potential disruption at examination centres.
After reviewing the request, BISE Rawalpindi accepted the proposal and announced November 30 as the revised examination date for affected students.
New Computer Science Exam Date for Jhelum Students
Under the revised schedule, both groups of Intermediate Second Annual Examination candidates in Jhelum will appear in their Computer Science papers on Monday, November 30, 2026.
The examination timings will remain divided according to the morning and evening sessions.
| Examination group | Previous date | New date |
|---|---|---|
| Morning group | November 10, 2026 | November 30, 2026 |
| Evening group | November 10, 2026 | November 30, 2026 |
Students will take their examinations at their previously assigned examination centres unless the board issues further instructions.
BISE Rawalpindi spokesperson Arslan Cheema confirmed that Controller of Examinations Mubashir Saeed had issued the official notification regarding the revised schedule.
Does the Postponement Apply to All Rawalpindi Board Students?
No. The change is limited to examination centres located in Jhelum district.
Students appearing under BISE Rawalpindi in other districts will continue to follow the original examination schedule.
Their Computer Science papers will take place on November 10, 2026, as previously announced.
This distinction is important for candidates because the postponement does not apply to the entire Rawalpindi Board examination system. Only students whose examination centres are in Jhelum are covered by the revised arrangement.
Candidates from other districts should therefore avoid assuming that their papers have also been postponed.
New Roll Number Slips for Affected Students
BISE Rawalpindi has also addressed the issue of roll number slips following the change in examination dates.
According to the board’s announcement, new roll number slips will be issued to students affected by the postponement.
However, Controller of Examinations Mubashir Saeed clarified that candidates can also use their previously issued roll number slips.
This means students do not need to panic if they have not yet received an updated slip. They should nevertheless follow any additional instructions issued by the board before appearing in the examination.
What Jhelum Students Should Do Now
Students appearing in the Intermediate Second Annual Computer Science examinations in Jhelum should make the revised date part of their examination preparation schedule.
Candidates should remember the following points:
- The Computer Science paper has been moved from November 10 to November 30.
- The revised date applies to both morning and evening groups.
- The postponement is limited to examination centres in Jhelum district.
- Students in other districts will appear on November 10 as originally scheduled.
- New roll number slips will be issued, but previously issued slips will also remain valid.
Students are advised to stay connected with BISE Rawalpindi for any further updates regarding examination arrangements.
The decision gives affected candidates additional preparation time while allowing the district administration to manage security and administrative arrangements for the expected November 10 visit.
