The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore is preparing to introduce digital examinations for matriculation and intermediate students. The board plans to conduct four annual examinations through a digital system.
BISE Lahore Chairman Professor Badrul Salam shared the update during a press conference on Friday. He discussed examination reforms and the board’s preparations for shifting towards digital assessments.
The chairman said the board had completed a trial of digital marking. It is now preparing students for the transition to digital examinations.
According to Badrul Salam, preparations have been completed for conducting digital examinations at examination centres and colleges. The board is also working to help candidates understand the new examination process.
The move is part of the board’s efforts to modernize examinations and marking procedures. Students will receive guidance and training before the digital system is introduced.
BISE Lahore Conducts Digital Examination Trials
The BISE Lahore administration has already tested the digital examination system on a smaller scale. The initial pilot test involved 500 students.
Following the trial, the board plans to conduct a mock examination for 3,000 candidates. This exercise will help students become familiar with the digital process before its wider implementation.
The chairman said the board was informing students about how digital examinations would work. It is also providing training for the online marking of answer sheets.
These preparations are intended to help candidates understand the new procedures. The mock test will provide another opportunity to assess their readiness for digital examinations.
The board has completed preparations at examination centres and colleges. This indicates that the transition involves both student training and arrangements at examination venues.
First-Year Examination Results Improve by 7%
During the press conference, Badrul Salam also reported an improvement in first-year examination results. He said the results had increased by 7%.
The chairman clarified that this improvement was not limited to Lahore. Similar progress had also been observed across educational boards in Punjab.
The reported increase highlights a positive trend in first-year results across the province. However, the chairman’s statement focused on the overall improvement rather than providing further details about individual boards.
Officials Share Details of Examination Reforms
Several board officials attended the press conference alongside the chairman. These included Controller of Examinations Tauseef ur Rehman, State Officer Shehzad-ul-Hassan, and Public Relations Officer Tahir Javed.
The officials discussed preparations related to the examination reforms and digital assessment system. Student awareness and training remain important parts of the transition.
The planned digital system will cover four annual matriculation and intermediate examinations. The board is preparing candidates through pilot testing, mock examinations, and training sessions.
BISE Lahore has completed its initial trial and is moving towards broader testing. The upcoming mock examination involving 3,000 candidates will be another step in preparing students for the new system.
