Asim Munir Holds Key Talks With Turkish Leadership

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held a series of high-level meetings with Türkiye’s political and military leadership during his official visit, reaffirming the longstanding strategic partnership between Pakistan and Türkiye.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Asim Munir received a warm welcome upon his arrival in Türkiye. The visit reflected the close and historic ties shared by the two countries, which have consistently supported each other on regional and international issues.

During the visit, the Chief of Army Staff met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, addressing regional security challenges, and exploring new opportunities to strengthen defense collaboration.

Both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, including the evolving regional security environment and the importance of maintaining peace and stability. They also reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in defense, military training, defense production, and strategic coordination.

According to ISPR, Pakistan and Türkiye share a common vision for strengthening their strategic partnership through closer political, military, and economic engagement. The leadership of both countries emphasized the importance of regular high-level exchanges and continued collaboration in addressing regional and global challenges.

The meetings also highlighted the deep-rooted friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye, which has grown stronger over the decades through mutual trust, shared values, and close diplomatic relations. Both countries reiterated their resolve to further enhance cooperation across multiple sectors for the mutual benefit of their people.

Field Marshal Asim Munir’s visit is being viewed as another important step toward deepening defense and strategic ties between Islamabad and Ankara. The engagement is expected to further strengthen bilateral relations and reinforce cooperation on regional security, counterterrorism, defense technology, and military-to-military collaboration, reflecting the enduring partnership between the two brotherly nations.
