The newly formed federal government in Pakistan has officially notified an increase in the general sales tax (GST) on cars valued above Rs4 million or with an engine capacity above 1400cc. The move is expected to impact auto manufacturers in the country, including Honda, which may revise the prices of their vehicles to align with the seven percent increase in GST. The government has raised the GST from 18% to 25% as part of efforts to boost revenue collection.
