Alex Hales Praises Azam Khan As Top Cricket Sixer

Former English cricketer and current Islamabad United player, Alex Hales, has showered praise on Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batter, Azam Khan, hailing him as one of the most impressive hitters and strikers he has had the opportunity to play cricket with.

During a media interaction in the UAE, Hales expressed admiration for Azam Khan, describing him as one of the best batters in the shortest format of the game and commending his outstanding performances in recent years.

According to Hales, Azam is brilliant and stands out as one of the finest hitters and strikers of a cricket ball he has played with. He emphasized Azam’s exceptional skills and noted the batter’s excellent form over the last couple of years. Hales also highlighted Azam’s positive impact on the team, describing him as a great guy to have in the squad.

In response to queries regarding Azam’s fitness, particularly after a recent run-out in a game, Hales downplayed concerns, stating that such incidents are a common occurrence in cricket. He acknowledged that Azam experienced a run-out in the recent game, but emphasized that it doesn’t diminish Azam’s skill and talent. Hales praised Azam’s ability to strike the ball incredibly well.

It’s worth noting that Alex Hales and Azam Khan are currently teammates playing in the International League T20 (ILT20) for the Desert Vipers. Additionally, the Desert Vipers squad includes notable players such as Pakistan’s T20I captain Shaheen Afridi, former pacer Mohammad Amir, and leg spinner Shadab Khan.

In the context of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Hales has been a prominent figure for Islamabad United in previous seasons. Both Hales and Azam Khan are set to represent Islamabad United in the upcoming ninth edition of the PSL.
