Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has introduced updated admission requirements for students applying to its HSSC Pre-Medical and Pre-Engineering programmes for the Autumn 2026 semester.
According to the revised policy, only students who have completed Matric with Science subjects will be eligible to apply for these programmes. The university has also made it clear that applicants must have successfully passed all compulsory and elective subjects in their Matric examinations. Candidates who received an F grade in any compulsory or elective subject will not qualify for admission.
To strengthen the admission process, AIOU has instructed applicants to submit an attested copy of their Matric Science certificate along with the admission form. The university clarified that submitting only the Matric result card will not be considered sufficient proof of eligibility.
In addition, all newly admitted first-semester students will be required to have their Matric Science certificates verified by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC). After completing the verification process, students must upload the verified certificate to their CMS (Campus Management System) account.
University officials have warned that students who fail to complete the IBCC verification may face complications later, particularly when applying for their final academic certificate. The verification process has therefore been made an essential part of the admission requirements.
AIOU stated that these revised guidelines are intended to improve transparency and ensure that only eligible students with properly verified academic records are admitted to its science programmes. The university believes the updated rules will help maintain academic standards while simplifying the verification process for future certification.
Prospective students planning to apply for the Autumn 2026 admissions are advised to carefully review the new eligibility criteria and ensure all required documents, including the attested Matric Science certificate and IBCC verification, are completed before the admission deadline to avoid delays or rejection of their applications
