Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced multiple faculty vacancies for 2026, inviting applications for lecturer and associate professor positions across its different faculties. The university is offering positions in Computer Science, Sociology, English, Urdu, Psychology, Islamic Economics and several other subjects.

Eligibility Criteria for AIOU Faculty Jobs

Additional Requirements for Associate Professor Applicants
Candidates applying for Associate Professor positions must complete the online application and then submit a physical dossier.
The required submission includes four bound sets of the application, one soft copy in PDF format on a CD or USB, attested copies of academic documents, research articles and relevant supporting documents.
Applicants must also provide details of conference papers, MPhil and PhD students supervised, research grants or projects, community development or social responsibility activities, and the original paid bank challan.
Both the hard and soft copies must reach the university by the closing date. The physical dossier is mandatory, and applications without an online submission will not be entertained.
Application Processing Fee
AIOU has specified the following processing fees for the advertised positions:
- BPS-18 positions: Rs. 1,500.
- BPS-20 positions: Rs. 5,000.

Important Instructions for Applicants
Candidates currently working in government departments, semi-government organisations, autonomous bodies or AIOU must apply through the proper channel where applicable.
Such applicants must also submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and service certificates issued by the relevant controlling authority by the deadline. Failure to provide the required documents may result in the application being considered incomplete.
