Adil Farooq Raja, a former member of the Pakistan Army who transitioned into a political commentator for a period, is consistently expressing animosity towards state institutions.

According to a Tuesday report by Daily Jang, Adil Raja was apprehended late on Monday in the United Kingdom for allegedly spreading propaganda against the armed forces.

The report indicates that the ex-army officer was reportedly summoned by UK authorities for interrogation, and British officials have verified the arrest on charges of circulating disparaging content against Pakistan’s institutions through social media.

In October, the Pakistan Army imposed a 14-year rigorous imprisonment sentence on two officers, including Adil Raja. The military’s media affairs wing stated that the charges against Raja and the other officer included inciting sedition among army personnel and breaching official secrecy acts related to espionage.
