Friendly nations worry that if Imran wins again, their aid will be wasted Maulana Fazlur Rehman

PESHAWAR: According to Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl, friendly nations to Pakistan are opposed to Imran Khan’s return to power out of concern that the former prime minister will squander their financial support for the nation.

“Serious concerns have been voiced by our friends regarding Imran Khan’s potential return to office. They warned the Shehbaz Sharif administration that if Imran were to win back the presidency, their financial investments would be wasted.

Nasir Musazai, a PTI National Assembly member, proclaimed his affiliation with the JUI-F at the time. The JUI-F leader, who is also the leader of the Pakistan Democratic Alliance, which controls the centre, questioned the former prime minister’s integrity and stated that friendly nations did not assist Pakistan during the financial crisis when Imran was in charge of matters.

He claimed that friendly nations only offered assistance to Pakistan after Imran was overthrown. If only we were all crooked, he said, “then tell us why friendly countries didn’t trust you while you were the prime minister [and gave financial support].” The former prime minister, according to Mr. Fazl, “ruined the country financially, culturally, and morally.”

He claimed that Imran was currently making every effort to regain power in order to carry out his foreign masters’ agenda after failing to do so while serving as prime minister. He claimed, “We not only destroyed him, but also his foreign bosses.”
