President Zardari nominates three judges to the Supreme Court

President Asif Ali Zardari approved on Monday the appointment of three new judges to the Supreme Court, following a notification issued by the Federal Ministry of Law.

The newly appointed justices are Justice Malik Shahzad, who was previously serving as the Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, Justice Shahid Bilal, a judge from Lahore High Court, and Justice Aqeel Abbasi, who held the position of Chief Justice at Sindh High Court.

Simultaneously, in a related development, Justice Shujaat Ali Khan, a distinguished jurist from Lahore High Court, has been appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of Lahore High Court, according to an official notification.

Similarly, Justice Shafi Siddiqui, a seasoned judge of Sindh High Court, has been assigned the role of Acting Chief Justice for his respective jurisdiction.

The oath-taking ceremony for the newly appointed Supreme Court judges will be conducted by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa.
